I was just wondering how fast my 01' tl is from 0-60? I read that it was 8 seconds, is that true?

Also, I'm installing comptech headers exhaust and aem cai, how much hp will that put on, and how much faster will it be?

Lastly, I heard that intake will improve my gas mileage, how could that be?

That is just about right for the 0-60 for the 01 TL. You will get about another 30 HP with the Exhaust, CAI, and Headers. Yeah the intake can help you out with gas mileage, but that's only if you don't floor it all the time to hear the noise of the intake and try to race everyone.

intake, headers, and exhaust will net you 15hp at the crank if you're lucky. these kinds of mods don't increase hp in such a way where you add up +5hp for intake, +10hp for headers, +5hp for exhaust and waa-lah you have 20hp...as stand alone improvements each of these items may gain those kind of improvements.

Road & Track lists the TL 0-60 at 7.2 sec and 1/4 mile at 15.5@91.5mph...all these stats are dependent upon conditions such as temp and altitude...

 

actually, 2001 TL is the 5speed, it's listed a 6.7sec for 0-60 and 15.2 for the 1/4 mile, the 7.2 is the 99 TL 4 speed, i don't know about 8 secs though...oh for the 1/4, i know i'm running low 15s, i raced a V6 mustang with intake n something else... cant remember but he told me he was running 14.8 n i didn't lose to him much at all, for the Max, depends if its a manual n if it has mods, if it does i think you will, i heard they are capable of mid to high 14s stock

 

true...but Road & Track also listed the Type-S as having a 0-60 time of 6.8 seconds which people complained about...it all has a lot to do with prevailing conditions as R&T would say.

 

My 2000TL does 0-60 6.7-6.9 by my stop watch (many times)

 

your right, car and driver list the type S at 6.2, that's more than .5 sec diff...

 

i don't have a G-tech but a stop watch will work, you got pretty much the same times as Car&Driver
