question about the shifter..

I was curious if there was a way to shorten the shifter in my 02 TL-S. I know its an automatic, but it still sticks up kinda high. Anything factory replacement?

take off the knob, and you can cut off a little of the threaded rod with a hacksaw, saw that somewhere on this site.

Cut some off the knob. You will only be able to cut it so far or the shifter wont move down to 1st without hitting.

get different shift knobs. some sit differently. friend gave me one and it was great. until i couldnt pull it into 1st without hitting the shiftgate. so yeah, it's possible without the hacksaw.

but otherwise, that works too

I used a good blade on a Dremel to do mine. Just cut off about 1/4" if you're using the same knob.

Get the 07-08 TL-S shift knob. It looks great, feels comfy, and sits MUCH lower. I have one F/S if you want it. PM me

I kinda like that. What do you want for the extra one you got? I just wish it was a Dark black leather color with silver carbon fiber
