Question about rear turn signal bulb...

I recently put super white bulbs in my reverse lights and I like the way it gives the blue tint look being that my tls is blue. I went out and bought the turn signals too but they don't fit. Every book and even this site say the same thing, 1156 single filiment bulb. However when I took my old one out it was odd, the two tiny tabs on the side that twist into the socket aren't parallel to each other like a standard 1156 bulb. They are kinda offset, thats the best I can explain it. I did a search and found Nada. So I figure I'll nag you guys for some help

i've read that you have to cut or "shave" down one of the metal tabs

I've already done it JPTLS21 ....... got my bulbs from the Pep Boys on Route 9 in Howell and shaved off the higher tab (simply used pliers and twisted it right off) then plugged that sucker in! See you on "The 9"

yah, u gotta clip one of the tabs off. i just did mine on my '03 and it was no big deal. i just used wire cutters and popped one tab right off. just make sure u leave one on, and it will still fit in the harness and hold pretty well. it actually came loose once, but i just pushed it back in and it's held since then.

Be careful "clippping" the tab off. You are better off getting a file and fileing it down rather than clipping it off. That's what I did...no problems.
