universal you have to cut off the old one and splice the new one in (universal)

i didn't want to do that so i just bought an OEM one to replace both

ngk or denso one,
but yeah i would stay away from the universial one , you can never get them to work right, also bosch ones are not as good either
also what year, model, trim (type-s or not), manual or auto (for a cl-s) is your car

i would say you really only proably need to replace the rear one to fix the problem, but replaceing the front one too does not hurt either, they get kinda slow and lazy, and don't work the best, but the computer is still happy with it, but i have heard (first hand from the owner) of a 20% inprovement in fuel mileage before with just replacing the front one (on the higher end though)

or it could have been unplugged at one point and the key turned on, and just needs the codes cleared,
also any recent exhaust work or new exhaust parts, or maybe even a new tranny recently

just get the direct fit for both, you can never get those universials to work right, especially with the included wire splices, if any thing i would much rather see the rear o2 be the unversial one

the front one the computer relies on it HUGELY to make the engine run its best, so you want it to be built to OEM design spec (proably at least 90% of the calculations the computer does is based off that one sensor's feedback/data/output)

Dont get ones you have to splice. Any corrosion can cause them to not function properly. Get ones that are plug and play. And honestly, i would only get the one if thats all that is not working right.

you need to use the one which is designed for your car and emissions, cause one thing the ecu might have an ever so slightly different programming to the specific o2

but i also know on a 99 mitsi galant that the cali one has two front o2 's where the fed one only has one front o2 on it

They can also have different connectors. Just go with the one that your car takes. If your car is a California emissions model, go with that one. Otherwise, buy the federal one.

hey DC2Kid, where did you end up buying your O2 rear sensor? I'm looking for one myself. Did you install it yourself, was it easy?

i just had to take my rear off , due to me installing a high flow cat, but yeah it is REALLY easy all you need is a 7/8 wrench (along as it is not siezed in their) and a little screwdriver to undo the clip which holds the wire, and you get to the connecter from underneth (easy to find once underneth)

I'm also from Toronto, how much was it with the shipping and customs? Your check engine light is out now? Did you replace the front and rear sensors?
