hey guy i just installed my aem v2 but at startup it dosent really hiss my cone is dirty really dirty could that be the cause? or should i clean my pipe or something? i really want it to make that noise at startup

 

So you bought it used I'm assuming?

Clean the pipe and the filter out.

I would do the filter first then see if that fixes it and if not move on to the pipe.

 

after cleaning my egr ports, my intake made more of woosh! noise and some hissing.

clean the cone out, follow aem instructions

 

ok i cleaned the filter now its a bit better but its not hissing alot my friend has the regular aem intake the 2 piece one and it makes more noise

 

aem V2 does not have a distinct hissing noise because its a different kind of cold air (with two filters) so that different technology might be affecting the hissing noise. My friend has the V2 and it doesn't make the hissing noise (or its not loud enough to be noticed). His air filter is also clean.

I can make you a video of my Injen (: it hisses when I slightly turn my wheel to the left or right and it also hisses when i turn on my headlights on a cold startup. Oh yeah, better yet, it hisses from time to time when I'm driving (at very low rpms though).

 

The V2 has more of a loud humming noise than hissing.
