ques on cleaning waxing ect

well, since the weather in NJ has gotten so nice...i went out and spent 70 bucks on car cleaning/protecting/gloss products...all of the maguaire's....i know everyone here uses zaino...but these are more readily available...
so anyway...to my ques...ive never waxed polished my car...or anything...so how often do you guys wax? do you have to do it after everytime you wash? also i heard that once you start you cant stop..so what do you do in the winter?...cause i dont really wash to often.

also...the leather clean/conditioner and the vynle cleaner both say "test in a un noticable spot" which kinda scares me..anyone have experience with these products?

also the wax..gold class...does that give a nice shine?

and the gold class endurance..is that good with spin off and durability?

um..thtas all i can think of to ask...and in general..do you think meguairs are good products?

The Maguaires products are good stuff. If you intend to wax the car, especially after the winter up there, make sure you wash it so good you could eat on it. I mean, like 2 or 3 times with Dawn. Every winter person here knows how bad snow salt can scratch the car. Use a real easy mit or something super super soft to wash it too. With the wax, depending on weather, a wax job goes buh-bye in a few weeks. after your done you will be amazed how smooth the car is, than that will fade slowly. Every time you wash the car unless you use special car wash, the wax is mostly gone. You dont have to keep waxing, its just a good idea.

As for leather conditioner/cleaner, they all say that. Thats in case it does do something bad, they can say "told you so". I wouldent worry about it, ive used Lexol and Maguaires and they are both fine, though i think Lexol does the better job. Only use it on the leather. Dont touch the dash or door panels (cept the leather strip on the door panels) with the vynle cleaner, more harm than good. A highly daluted soap/water combo for the dash and other interior trims are best. Like 1 drop of Dawn for each cup of water. Dawn is easy on the interior and it does a great job. And it wont dry it out. Armor all, vynal cleaner and conditioners suck.

The Gold Glass stuff i noticed is much better in the paste rather than the liquid. I tried both and the paste stayed on longer and left a better feel and shine. Its just harder to put on and take off.

Of cource, now i use Zaino only but you knew that eheheheh...

dawn is gentle on the car but cleans very well. Its hard to find a really good car wash soap. I havent used Wal-Mart/Auto parts stores car soap in 2 years. Just a heads up though, if u use Dawn on the car after u wax it, like a week down the road or whatever, the wax will be completely gone. Use the auto parts store's car wash thats wax friendly. Sorry, should have specified to use Dawn just for the inital wash

Dawn will remove wax, so use Dawn to remove the remaining wax on the car. Once the car is washed, you want to use dedicated car soap.

If you do not use Zaino products or some other type system products.
You can then use the quick type wax products that are very easy to use. You can use them in between the regular conventional wax. Some can be sprayed on & wiped off very easy in a few mins. This can give you some protection & shine but you don't have the harder work to do. Even with Zaino they have the gloss enhacer that you can use to maintain & extend the shine & protection.
