simple for the steering lock, just remove the ignition cylinder LMFAO, but you won't have a steering lock anymore though (other easy way would be to jam it unlocked)( but you can't really do much as far as that goes, without some modifaction of the ignition cylinder and such (maybe rig up a solenoid or something), cause that steering lock is purely mechanical, think of why it is hard to turn the key, when the wheel is jammed up against the steering lock

Well to answer your question yes I just had my friend do the install today and it works great ,basally you start the car like a s2000 turn the key to the ON position than push the button it is pretty cool mod, the lite comes on when the foot brake is push on than I push the button and my car starts up once the foot brake is released the lite goes out the button is deactivate and it is to me a reminder that my foot brake is on.here a pix of the button on my dash I will take a better pix tomorrow

i will be doing this to my car in the next month or two But i wanna get a hold of the push start like the new tl's have installed.

I know its a little confusing but its just brain storming> but that bluetooth thing would not work.

another addition to this is figuring out a way to unlock your stirring wheel when the rfid reader detects your tag, it hard but ill see if i can get this done
You could use Audrino to make this all work in a heartbeat and around 50$, you just need the programming know-how.

Nice install. I wish there was a way to do it without installing the physical key, though. This just makes it harder to start the car.

not gonna lie, that looks pretty ill.

i don't see the point of pushbuttons especially when the key still needs to be in the ignition (like most cars) but it is awesome none the less.

It'd look much nicer with the ebony interior IMO, much more sportier

Looks hot JDM-UA5. Hopefully I see it on the 12th...

But anyways, I'd say to ninja the button in somewhere so nobody would be able to find it, yet its still perfectly accessible from the drivers seat.

I still see no point of a push button when you have to still insert a key and turn it to the run position. All you are doing is adding one more step to start the car

Pretty much...

A buddy of mines ignition switch went in his corolla so he did a whole bunch of wiring, added a switch, a sensor, and a button...
In order for it to start the car, the e-brake must be engaged, the switch must be flipped to the "on" position, and then you push the button to start the car.

The dash piece was drilled out so the button and switch fits perfectly, and it looks like it truly belongs there.
A very cheap and interesting mod if done correctly.

this mod is about cool factor, not functionality.

for example, why slam your car if all you are gonna have to do from now on is watch for potholes, curbs, etc? cus slamming it makes it look so much better. functional? absolutely not.

i would imagine it would get old quickly but whenever you drive someone else in your car and they see the starter button, itll be worth it.

I dont find it cool either having to still insert a key, turn it to run then push a button. Having done a mod with a wireless fob and a button = Cool, having to use the stock key in ignition not
