Angry punk kids boosted my trunk emblem!

Everyone,

Just wanted to vent a little bit -- some punk kids boosted my rear Acura symbol emblem last night. That bothers me. What really irks me is that they left a noticeable scratch on the pant. That really bothers me. At least have the decency to steal without disrupting everything else.

When I called my dealership, they told me that they can't keep those symbols in stock. Since early April (when Type-S's became available in Canada) they've had to order 150 of them. WTF?! I'm seriously looking into debadging the back but leaving the 'Type-S' part on. But what to do with the little holes the Acura symbol? I know a few members on this board got them filled in ... how much would filling them in cost (in Canadian $$$) ??? What places in southern Ontario would do such a job?

In any instance, I'm ordering the replacement rear emblem for C$32 + tax. ARGH. But at least I don't feel as bad a guy I know who owns a Bimmer -- he had to pay C$75 to replace the hubcap emblems on his 3-series!

Thumbs down

Damn, that sucks... I took off the 3.2TL TypeS badges mainly b/c I was concerned about the TypeS badge. Haven't worried about the "A". Hopefully that's not the next hot thing. Sorry to hear about this.....

I guess because the "A" is larger on the '02. Probably looks good on a necklace. Hey atleast that means Acura is getting some respect. Soon enough the "A" will be right up there with the three pointed star!

so if you do decide to "debadge" what do you need and how do you do it? Since you don't wanna leave any scratch marks and stuff getting it off. And what do you put in the holes where it used to be? Are there instructions or anything that anyone has on doing this? I too am concerned that i might park somewhere and someone will steal my emblems and scratch up my car in the process.

Man that sucks!! I debagded my car within a week I got the car mainly for the "Type-S" badge. I know some a$$holes might use some key or screwdriver to take it off, leaving behind scratches. I wound up taking everything off so just cause I liked the clean look without the advertising. Left the "A" cause of the holes, even if it didn't have the holes I don't think I would have taken them off.

Anyway, I took them off using toothfloss with a sawing action between the emblem and body. Some have simply heated them up with a hairdryer to warm it up and pry/pull them off. After all, it's only doublestick tape.

Yup, JAL Cargo. Why you ask? You know if you spelled your screen name biyoki, it means sick in Japanese

Thanks. I didn't know it was tape holding it on. I thought it had holes behind it like the Acura symbol.

Most likely they're putting it on their Honda.
