Pulley Upgrades
Bunch of pulley questions:
1) Can you really feal the upgraded HP with upgraded pulleys?
2) Which brand? AEM, Unorthodox?
3) Do it make sense to buy the underdrive pulleys or just the lightweight ones? I have heard the power gains are not really from the underdrive - mostly just from the decreased weight.
Thanks.

I still haven't installed it. hopefully will do it this week. Again it's probably a good idea to use new belts but it's not mandatory.

Belts are not included from UR and yes, you absolutely need new belts.
Gates model # K060441 for crank to alt to AC
Gates model # K040425 for crank to PS

NSXNEXT-So you are saying I need both these belts for just the crank pulley?
I just want to be 100% certain, since I am hearing a couple different things.
If so, will Autozone or Napa autoparts carry this brand? model numbers?
Thanks for all your help.

You just need this one if you're only doing the crank pulley.
Gates model # K040425
Autozone should carry them. Just ask if they carry Gates belts. They seem to be the best, no squeal and last a long time....and are recommended by UR

Unorthodox Racing has the reputation to back up their products. I have the 3-piece kit on my car, took about 2 hours to put 'em on. 290 bucks well spent, had fun for two hours, and I know they won't fail me unlike a no-name brand where I will be worried constantly.

It's the same principle as any rotating mass like wheels, tires, brake rotors, etc. They have to be balanced, and with no-name pulleys, you just can't be sure. And with the crank pulley, you don't just get vibrations like tires... you could do some serious damage to the crankshaft, which will require taking apart the entire engine to replace/repair. So ask yourself if it's really worth it to have the mere 100 dollars in your pocket.

i have to agree my ur crank pulley was a great mod. But for me it was 3rd so far as being my favorite. For me Headers was #1, Unichip #2, then the ur pulley. All great performance mods by the way. I put on the above mentioned gates belts when i did my ur crank pulley install. Worked like a champ & i had no squeels @ all.
