i was pulled over this afternoon in brooklyn ny..my windows were closed and i didnt have my seatbelt on, so i slipped it on quick..the cop said she was checking for tints and asked me roll my window halfway up cause i rolled them down as soon as i was gettin pulled over. after she checked it she said the legal tint in nyc is %70 (i have %20) so i told her that im from Pennsylvania. after i told her that she didnt know what to do so she asked me if i ever had a ny license and i told her i had one before i was driving lol. without anything else to say, she said if im gunna be driving in ny i cant have my windsheild tinted my windsheild isnt tinted and i had to show her lol. so she just let me go.

the funny thing is that the legal tint in pa is %70 all around and in ny its %70 front and %35 back lol

so i wanna know if a cop from one state can give me a ticket for tints if im registered in another state??

to answer your question no a cop in another state cannont give u a ticket at least thats wut i have noticed from my own experience but if u were to get ur car inspected in that state the mechanic doesnt have to pass u i live in NY in westchester i got 15% all around and nothing on the winshield and i thought it was 35% all around was the legal limit

i live in brooklyn but i register my car in pa and i have a pa drivers license (thanx to my mother buying a house there!) but i get my car inspected in pa. it has to be inspected where ever its registered.
