Pulled on an integra GS-r turbo

Hey all, I was out leaving the parking-lot of hooters when my big bro tells me he wants to run against my car on mopac. So we're running back to campus, (rolling start) I wait for him and he pulls up to me at about 60. I'm in SS with VSA off, and we go, I rev up past red at around 7200..and my engine almost stalls, so then i upshift,... in 3rd..going from 80 to about a 100.. I'm still pulling on him... got about half a car length.... then traffic get's heavy and i just squeeze my way through the lanes and out...

it was a fun run... he said he missed 5 gear and dropped into 3rd... his car is pushing around 290 with a greddy turbo i think---...

Alright latez.

Question REALLY?

Is it a real, genuine GS-R turbo? Did you get a chance to examine the engine?

yup yup,

it's a real GS-R turbo. I must state one thing though, he had 2 other ppl in his car, and I had 1 passenger... so he was at a slight disadvantage...

I'm sure his car would take me off the line, but from a rolling start, my car was running pretty quick.

Question

Turbo in a GS-R? Was that custom-built?

There are like 10 turbo kits out there for GS-Rs...and no way that Integ is pushing 290...maybe at the crank....but not at the wheel and not at stock boost that it comes in...which is I think 6~7psi...

That guy needs to be checked out at the local psychiatrists's office, putting all that money in a Civic

At 10psi on the stock internals my '97 GS-R put 252hp and 198ft-lbs to the wheel. In a car that weighed 2660 lbs. That was good for 13.30's @ 106 on street tires. After having the motor built and upping the boost to 17psi, I never took it to the track but it was significantly quicker than before.

Suffice it to say that either his car was REALLY messed up or he couldn't drive at ALL -- two people in his car or otherwise. But if you pulled on him, congrats nonetheless.

I don't see anything wrong with that at all. Not everybody wants a luxury car. A super charger on a Civic is about three grand...with that on...it can hang with TLs. Some people just have an extra toy car laying around to race.
