PSA about Moog LCA Outer Bushing
I just changed my oil and took a sec to check the status of the Moog Lower Control Arm Bushing (Outer Bushing which attaches the LCA to the Strut Fork). And it is smashed and cracking. Although I still stand by Moog, this is one of their products that isn't good.
Tomorrow I'm going to call Rockauto and see about a refund since I'll be getting an OEM bushing from Acura on Monday.
I did a suspension facelift on the front of the car so I'll take some time to check the status of the other Moog parts I installed.
Lower Control Arm Inner Bushing
Upper Control Arm Ball Joint
Lower Control Arm Ball Joint
Radius Rod Bushings
Stabilizer Bar Bushing
Sway Bar End Links
These were all installed in August 2012, and now it's November 2012.
So as of now, DO NOT GET MOOG LOWER CONTROL ARM OUTER BUSHINGS.
I'll update you guys on more to come later.

CL-S progression 01 and I were voicing our opinions about Moog products. He had an issue with a stabilizer bar link that had gone bad. I still like Moog but like any company not every part is made to exceed the quality that is expected. I just thought I'd share my experience with you TL owners that might be doing a suspension refresh in the future.

Hmm, something's not right. I'm not saying Moog is the best company, but even is really shitty part should last more than 2 months. Any possibility that something is causing extra wear?
Good info though. I certainly expected more from Moog.

As did I, that's why most of those replacement parts are Moog. I think they're expanding their product line super fast and are sacking quality on some of the parts. Overall I still like most of their goods.
BTW I called rockauto and they offered a store discount if I can get the product back to them by the 25th of November. That's only two weeks . user zeta actually had the same issue and he warned me about this particular part after purchase but before I installed.
I am on Koni Yellows with Neuspeed Springs so that may add extra stress but the way these are cracked is pretty bad. The bolt through the strut fork is basically sitting in the roll pin on the bottom of the bushing cavity.

I just called rockauto and am having them ship me a new control arm. The upper bushing is shot and its only a few weeks old. I think the problem is not many of their parts are made in china to cut costs. The control arm box said made in china and it definitely didnt look like the one i pulled off which was a few years old.
I want ones with urethane bushings

These pics were posted by zeta on the CL discussion.

I just ordered the Energy Suspension 16.3106R. I cross-referenced the part fitment between the Honda Odyssey/Accord with the part on the '01 CL-s and they are interchangeable. Mine will be red for easy visibility. I don't believe the bushings on the upper control arms are serviceable for these cars so I opted not to get the 16.8106 pictured.
I agree with that statement about stuff now being made elsewhere. When I got all my Moog gear, the boxes were labeled with "Made in Asia". So I was a bit hesitant.
