fog lamp indicator button light

My foglamp indicator button light was broken. When I brought it into service, they fixed it but the light is now orange. This is the indicator button light next to the sunroof button.

I remember the light being green. Can anyone confirm that the light is supposed to be green?

Yup, mine's green too. It's possible that they just used an orange bulb instead of a green one. As long as it works you should be fine.

the only orange bulb I have is the heated mirrors. It turns orange under the picture of the mirror when it's on.

Yep. Probably grabbed the wrong bulb out of the parts bin. Don't worry about it, but if it bothers you the next time you're at the dealer have them change it out. I wouldn't make a special trip just for that though.

I wouldn't care if they laughed at me. If that happened to me, I would go straight back and tell them to change it back to green, the way it's supposed to be.

If they changed your headlights to red, you wouldn't care as long as it lights up? Didn't think so. What if they tinted your windows pink? It still blocks sunlight. Would you keep the pink tint? Didn't think so.

thats a horrible arguement...red headlights couldnt possibly light up the road...and if you had your windows tinted..you'd obviously have specified the color...this is a small light in the interior...the only thing it can be comapred to probably is if they put the wrong air freshener in your car...

Mine is green, and the heated mirror indicator is orange, but on my 99 the mirror indicator was red and there was no fog light switch.

Mine just stopped working on my '03 TL-S. Regardless of the color, how much did it cost from the dealer to repair? Also, does anyone have experience in replacing the indicator light themselves?

^ just pull the switch out (use a small screw driver to pry and get it started) and pull the bulbs out and replace them.

Or remove the knee pad (lower dash piece under the steering wheel) and reach hand up and push the switch out.

The little green bulb is only about a dollar from the dealership. Do it yourself and save the ripoff labor charge.
