Problems with the seat/mirror memory...

I have had my 03 TLS for about a month, and I have had problems with my memory/mirror positions since I got it.

Here's what's happening:

There was already 2 positions stored in the seat memory (1 + 2). I have tried saving my position in #1, but with no luck. I press the "Memory" button until it beeps, and then hold down the #1. Nothing happens. No more beeps. It just blinks for a couple minutes while holding it down. Same with the #2 position.

So I have learned to live with it, since I am driving it 99% of the time.

BUT, here is the really annoying part - everytime I place the car into reverse, the passenger mirror tilts completely down, all the way. After I go into "drive", the mirror 'sometimes' comes up a little (maybe an inch or two), or stays put in the down position.

Is this a known problem? The car did not come with the key fob (bought from a dealer, and they didn't get it with the car), so not sure if maybe something was overridden.

Not a huge deal, just an annoyance. Otherwise I love the car!

Thanks!

For the memory, shortly while holding down the Set button, simultaneously press and hold #1 or #2 until you hear a beep. NOT holding down the Set button until you hear a beep.

For the mirror, it should go back to the normal position after you put the gear into drive. It could be the mirror is getting sticky, try to help it moving up and down with your hand while it is moving. you can disable the mirror tilt by setting the mirror switch to left or right.

Thanks! I should have clarified. I do release the "set" button before pressing and holding the #1/#2 button.

I will try again at lunchtime today, and see if am crazy

I do, and I am following it as far as I can tell. Press the set, wait for the beep. Release. Press the memory #, hold until 2 beeps. Release.

It's just that I don't get the "2 beeps".

Try this and I thinks it should work:

-Adjust your seat position and 2 outside mirrors and make sur the switch to
choose R or L mirror stay at the center after adjusting.(very important )
-Put your key in start position or just start your car .
-Press and release the SET buton and do nothing( both lights will flash a few
sec. then stop ... you just erase all memory )
-Now to set your seat memory : press and release the SET buton ( both lights
will flash ) then press and hold the memory 1 or 2 buton until you hear 2 beeps
then release. And the seat memory will be set .

Don't press and hold the 1 or 2 button! Where are you getting that info? Do this:

Press the "MEMO" button, both 1 and 2 lights begin to flash.

Press whichever one you are programming and release

It should then beep 2x and be set. There is NO need to hold any of the buttons.
