Price Check

I'm new to this forum. I just bought a used TL less than a week ago. So far, I'm very content with the smoothness and comfort of the ride.

Acura 2001 TL
62k mileage
Dark dark blue
Minor scratches
NO accidents
Looks abosutely mint

How much do you guys think it is worth? I bought it already and I'm just wondering if I got a good deal for it. BTW, I bought it from an auction, Pennsylvania auction to be precise.

Thanks,

~ TopCat

yup. no more than 14kish.

reason:
'00 emerald green
48k mi
scratches everywhere
not really mint
wheels were f'd up - curb rashes everywhere
no navi

paid 16K - and this was in feb '02.

if my car was still up for sale... and there are some in my condition for sale in my area.. and they are around $10-12k.. since you got yours at an auction.. guessing you paid less than $10k?

Why was it sold at auction? Was it a theft recovery or reposession due to someone not able to keep up with the payments (or even a not-obvious accident restoration)?

I believe that not all cars sold in auctions were involved in theft recovery or reposession. Correct me if i'm wrong, but can't anyone put their car in the auction?

Everybody can put their car in the auction. Not all the cars were involved in theft recovery or reposession. If it does, the owner has to disclose the facts. There are some indicators behind the host and it shows if the title is present, salvage title, damages in the book........
Only the dealers have the license can enter these facilities and bid the cars.
........... long story

Anyway, you can buy the car like at least $2000-3000 below blue book. My friend bought a 2000, no navi, 55000 mile for $11000, very good conidition.
But the hold back is you can't test drive the car.

I checked Kelley Blue Book and they had it at $16k for private party and $18.5k for retail. I'd say you did pretty well, especially if it's in great condition inside and out.

I actually bought the car for 12k. It came out to 13.5k after taxes and fees. Good? Bad? Fair?

It was a dealer auction, not a public auction.

I'm loving it but fear for my headlights.

I pray that I wont run into the transmission problem. I am bringing my car to get it detailed tomorrow. Should I also take it to Acura dealer to run a full check-up?

I paid $16,500 for a 2000 tl and it was worth every dime. it was a corporate lease with 36,000 miles. navi all options including heated seats (that I dont need in southern cali). I love the car and cant wait to begin the mods.

Heated seats aren't an option. Navi is the only functional option.

I paid low 16's for my '02 TL-P w/ 57k miles. Perfect interior and 9/10 exterior.
