As much as I really dont want the tranny to take a shit, I'm kind of hoping it does so I have an excuse to do a 6spd swap

I'm in the same boat as you. 6spd in an a-spec would be like sex on wheels.

Uhh...did you all go through the horror of replacing the trannies or did you buy them after they were replaced by the previous owner?

The owner before me replaced mine. I have never experienced a failure.

I always wanted a 2G TL because I saw the kitted ones n they look so badass...they are a rare sight.... I just love how it looks and I could keep this car forever but this tranny failure problem scares me. I used to have a 2000 V6 Accord that slipped and I had to ditch it so I'm no stranger lol.

I have plans for owning a good looking car with rather mediocre performance and boosting it...i'd love for it to be this one...or if I sell it I will get an IS300 and turbo that instead.

1999 TL, 129k miles... original trans, shifts like butter but the failure problem is always in the back of my mind. It's almost enough to make me sell sometimes.

02 TL-S, 120,000 , second tranny.
Just recently was getting a shudder as it changed 3-4 and 4-5.
Did the drain and fill 3 times and added a tranny fix product and it seems fine now.
Cross my fingers!
