Post AV6 Swap

So I got the AV6 swap done and everything seems to be running fine. No issues when driving, car shift smooth and drives waaaay better. Only thing is the Neutral D5 don’t light up anymore...and sport shifting doesn’t light up or work anymore either.... work was done by a trusted mechanic in his own shop and I gave him all the info needed for the swap... I’m thinking something was missed but unsure of what??? Any help is much appreciated.

Sounds like the transmission range switch. If not transferred over properly from the old trans to the new, will require a small amount of adjustment to properly indicate which gear the transmission is in and allow manual shifting of gears.

The service manual explains how to do it, can be adjusted without raising the car up if the wheel is turned all the way to the left.

long story short: if you loosen the bolts that secure it to the transmission, you should be able to twist the sensor, this in turn "fine tunes" the switch so that it properly shows the position which the transmission is in.

If you have been experiencing problems starting the engine (or can start the car when it is in gear) then this is it.

That's exactly what I had to do:

Loosen the range selector mounting screws a bit so that the selector will "stick in one spot" but is able to be moved with enough physical force.
Lift the front of the car with no tires on the front, wheels turned sharply left,
Start it
Put it in gear
Test it from the cockpit.
You should be able to move the range selector switch while the front wheels are spinning (be careful).

Took 10-15 minutes to find the sweet spot, but it's there, somewhere.

Thanks All!! Apologies on the delayed response.

I did end up re-adjusting the range switch. I happened to reread the WHOLE AV6 swap thread a couple times and saw that it was indeed an issue w/ the range switch. Fixed it the next day. Was gone for the weekend and drove it again today and I can't believe how much better the car drives. Now that my major maintenance is done, I can proceed with my build!!!!!
