Possible warped rotors on 02 Type-S

I noticed that my steering is shaking more noticably at high speeds and that my car wobbles somewhat when braking. I believe this is a result of my rotors being warped, as others on this forum have described. My 02 has 11200 miles on it. Do you believe Acura will cover rotor replacement or resurfacing under warranty?

yes they will cover this issue. I just had my roters resurfaced at 13,000 mi. The dealership will not cover the issue but Acura will. Now go make that apointment.

Sounds like your wheels might be out of balance as well. It's a good idea to have a wheel balancing and alignment done regularly. At least once a year. If you have warped rotors, you would really only notice a vibration in light braking. So a good little test is to see if the vibration is there under light braking, but goes away as you squeeze the calipers more as you come to a a stop.

Hmm, interesting. In addition to the braking problem and steering shake, my car begins to rattle noticably after 80 MPH.

I'd have the wheels looked at as well....have them check the balancing and they shoudl knof if they are bent by chance also. Good luck.

My car does the same thing -- over 80 mph .. braking.. steering shimmy's and vibrates... ugh.. will this car ever STOP having issues?

That's it.. my next ride is a Maxima..

want issues...try a german car....rattles, squeaks, recalls....Acuras for the most part are so tight adn trouble free. If the 6 speed CLS was available when I bought my A4, I'd probably have spent the extra $$$ on the CLS and had less to worry about....and had a faster car.
