My TL-S was due today. When I checked with the saleman, I was told that some of the new TLs have a front window problem -- window goes down but won't come up.
I could have picked up a Dark Emerald Pearl at the dealership (Radley in Falls Church, VA) last Saturday when I traded cars but the one they had in that color had the same/similar problem. The salesman told me he lowered the driver's side window to move it and it wouldn't go back up, so it was in the shop for repair. Rather than take that one, I elected to wait for the next one in that color due in and it was due in today.
The saleman told me that Acura was holding the new TLs for a replacement part to fix this window problem. I have no way of checking if this is true, but I'm passing it along in case anyone is experiencing this type of problem or as something to check before taking delivery of a new '02 TL.

 

I had a problem back in 1987 when I ordered, and left a deposit, on a new Toyoata Supra; man was I happy. After waiting for six weeks and getting jerked all over the place I went looking at other dealerships. I had gotten a good deal but the way I was bing treated was intolerable. I found the car I wanted on another dealers lot in less than two weeks and bought it at around the same price as my original order.

I went back the next day to the "original" Toyota dealer I ordered from, not in the Supra, and said I had waited long enough I wanted my deposit back. They said fine, got my check, and gave it back to me. I tore it in half in fornt of them and pulled the new Supras keys from my pocket and said "screw you" I bought it yesterday someplace else, thanks for nothing. They were silent and I left with a smile on my face.

Since then I will only purchase a car that is physically on the dealer's lot and that I can actually drive and look over before I make my deal. I will never again buy a car sight unseen. I bought my 3.2TL-S Saturday, 04/21, and I test drove it, looked it over and drove it home; all in the same day.

That's the way I buy cars now.

 

Never heard of that problem and all my windows are working fine.

Hey! Just wanted you to know that I have a Dark Emerald Pearl that I took delivery of a little over two weeks ago and all of the windows work just fine. I just passed the "1,000" mile marker today and it's running swweeet. I drove the car 180 miles R/T today on a little less than half a tank. Pretty happy with that.

Got the Dark Emerald Pearl and I get a lot of favorable comments about how the color changes - depending on the lighting, from medium green to dark green to black. Love the color! Just a b___ to keep clean. So far though, all the windows are still working.

I've had it happen on mine a couple of times on the drivers side only. It seems like it gets confused about which position is one touch and which is not, and if you give it about 5 seconds without touching the switch, it'll close without any problems. Also, this only happened when the window went all the way down.

Unfortunately, my mom's been in the hospital since April and I visit her at least twice a week. I live in Orlando and she's in Vencor Hospital in Tampa. (A little over 180 miles R/T). Keep her in your prayers. She's recovering from complications from abdominal surgery. God Bless...

 

I had that same problem on my 94 Accord when it was new. The car was at that time the first batch that Honda sold. The drivers power window went down & would not come back up. They had a recall a few days after I got my car. The problem was the module to the drivers window. The dealers should have rolled the windows up & down at least 10-20 times before they sold the cars. I got it 3 days after the new redesign cars came in.
After the fix I had no problems the 6yrs I owned it.
