Poor Man's Ice Box

Yes, I know, the Comptech Ice Box was designed for our intake, but when I removed the resonator box, I was dutifully impressed at the change in "seat of the pants" performance--originally, I removed the rubber thingy that accompanies the top box, (I thought, "hey, it's close to a pound", but I found that without it there was an ANNOYING drone at idle, so I put it back. Putting that piece back (it looks like a megaphone) took away 99% of the droning noise, leaving you with an "I can barely hear the engine" sound.
Wide open throttle is something completely different! The car sounds GREAT, and you can FEEL a difference in torque---that's NOT in my head. The mod is coupled with an K & N filter.
My point is this: you can spend $250, or you can try this mod and see if the difference is worth the quarter-grand. I didn't feel it was...

Glad you found out for yourself...but people have been doing this even before a CAI was made for our cars. Having trouble keeping up with the times? j/k

Well, when I did do it, I was sorry about the drone, but I sure as hell WASN'T going to put that damned resonator thing back in--too much hassle. As my lady once said, "Thank God the rubber worked"

And in regard to the keeping up with the times: watch it young whippersnapper, or I'll hit you with my cane! :p
