"poof" sound when starting engine

Hello all,
not sure if this is a normal "problem" but my acura tl-s sometimes makes a "poof" sound when it is started. it comes from the engine area and sounds like there's pressure that's built-up in the cylinders. it does not happen all the time and is not affected by the AC or anything else. is this normal???
thanks

I get that poof sound every morning when I start my car. I always thought it was normal...try putting in a CAI...that poof will sound much louder.....I personally like it.

There was another post in the TL forum regarding the same issue. I posted there that I am having that same kind of issue. Although, unfortunately, I don't care for it!!

Here it is:

According to Acura this is normal. My wife inquired about it and the svc. mgr. gave her some technical answer about vacuum pressure. Anyway, the 3 weeks we had a CL-S loaner, that car did the same thing which did at least prove that it's a design feature (or flaw) inherent to all Acuras.

Hope this helps but if not...just ask your svc. mgr....don't make your poor wife try to remember the technical stuff and then relate

The noise you hear is probably the vaccum operated motor mount- it moves slightly when you start the car and vacuum is applied to it. It is normal and is nothing to worry about.
