Smile pleasing induction sound

Has anyone noticed the pleasing, powerful induction sound from the engine which gets even louder around 5500 rpm. This lets me know that this engine means business. Others can hear it too. I have had the TL-S for about a month now and after it was broke in I was pleasantly surprised by this.

Yes, I noticed this too. I didn't hear it at first, but as the first couple weeks passed, there definitely was a nice growl developing from the engine. Now that it's out of the breakin period, I have noticed it sounds quite good over 5000 rpm.

This is just another thing I love about the car - normally the engine is quiet, almost stealthy, but when you step on it, it's all business.

By the way, how many kilometers does it take to finish the break-in period?

If you think that sounds good, try installing a CAI unit like the one from Xephyr Performance. Not only great sound on accel but about 6 extra hp!

Switch :

ON = driving above 5000 rpm
OFF = driving below 5000 rpm

The sound of the VTEC system on this car from 4800 to 6900 RPM is just simply beautiful....its mean but luxurious at the same time!

Personally, I am surprised at the extremely diferent tonal quality of my '02 3.2TL-S compared to the '99 3.2TL that I traded in on it. They sound absolutely, entirely different; no comparison.
