Well, some guys here will tell you G35 or RX-8 but if your looking still at the GS or TL, it depends.

The GS is a nice floaty ride. It is sporty, but not as much as a TLS. Lexus is typicaly more comfortable, as Lexus has always concentrated alot on creature comforts in the cabin.

The GS is considerably slower than a TL-S, but a GS had more performance upgrade options, like the L-Tuned package and so foruth. But a stock TL-S will always win in speed, sportiness, and IMO, style.

I have to agree with everything Darkshear has to say... I have a 2002 TL-S and had the tranny replaced at 15,000 miles or so. A couple of months ago I received some peace of mind in the mail from our good people at Honda. A nice transmission warranty extention on all 00-02 TLs and some 03 TLs for 7 years or 100,000 mi. If you plan on leasing again go with the TL-S (if the tranny fails they replace it under warranty). Honda knows if they make something faulty they have to swap it out. I also have to add that the service folks at Mission Viejo Acura in So. Cal. KICK A$$! I hope that helped. But that new G35 coupe is smok'in hot! :flamer:

how about 04 TL-S??or the TSX??
Like everyone said here, gs300 is slower than tl-s stock but its more quality built.(also cost more $$). the 03 tl-s is definitely sportier looking than the gs.

Lexus has better quality. It was ranked as number 1 car in reliability in a long term (5 year old cars )reliability study by JDPower.
There are trade off like quality vs. something you like.

Answer this question and you will know what kind of car to get: are you more luxury or sport oriented?

TL-S = sport/luxury

GS300 = luxury/sport

Well you can also get a BMW 330ci for under $40K or if you don't mind a 2 seater, a Nissan 350Z. 0-60 in 5.4! Truthfully, I wouldn't want to finance the same car again even though the newer model is slightly different. The G35 is very nice as is the GS300. Tough decision. Good luck!

Dude, GS300 is better than TLS.... it costs more thats the only problem. If money was not an issue I'd go for GS300, its a better car which obviously costs more money

GS300 is slower than a Type-S, why not a low-mileage GS400?
There are plenty of low-mileage GS400s between 30-40K if you search cars.com and autotrader.com

I would not lease the same car (00TL to 03TLS). For me it defeats some of the fun in leasing - change! I know there are differences between the two TL's blah blah. But they still almost look the same. Get the LEX!

The only thing the gs300 have over the tl-s is luxury. The tl-s beats it in every other category.

Now to get the best of both worlds, get the gs400/430!:wow:

If you don't live in a place that snows and rains frequently, G35 Sedan! (because of RWD)

If you do live in a place like that... TL-S!

Most "reliablity" comparisons by all kinds of consumer magazines also have Honda and Acura up there. Its usually something like

1) Lexus
2) Acura
3) Honda
4) bla..
5) Toyota

I got out of a 99 TL for a GS... No regrets. It's a LOT better than a bunch of cars on the road...

Actually, it goes like this:
1. lexus
2. Toyota
3. Acura
4. Honda.

And this is based on 5 year long term reliability study by JDpower, basicly using 1997-98 models....
Yes, Acura made in 97-98 was much more reliable than the one made in 2001+.... Acura fuked up....
2001+ Acura will not get good score for long term reliability as it did in 1997-98... transmission problems ( not to mention other problems ) is a black spot on Acura.

If you are looking for reliability I'd feel more comfortable getting Toyota/Lexus/Nissan. But I agree that CL/TL offers better performance, but lets be relealistic -- the reliability and over all quality just totaly sucks compared to Lexus....
