Please read this , Brake Problems....
Please let me know if you have the same "Clicking Noises" from your Brake system when you apply the brakes the first time after chnaging the direction from D to R or R to D.
This noise started after I put 3000 miles on my Tl (2001 W/N).
Dealer and Customer service telling me that this is the Characteristcs of Acura's brake (B. F. S.).After 5 times trying unsecsessfully to repair the problem.
I am having appointment next week with an Attorney to discuss this issue.
I need some feed back on this .
Please let me know if you the same problem or not.
Thanks.

A minor click from your brakes is normal when you first change directions and apply the brakes the first time.here is what that noise is:your brake pads sit in a part commonly called a "yoke".As you know brakes in time will wear which means in order to continue to function they must always be in contact with the brake rotor.Well in order to allow this to happen the brake pads are slightly smaller than the yoke they rest in in.it is this small difference in size allows the pads to slide in towards the rotor as they wear but it can also cause the slight click you hear. You see when you change direction the brake pads shift slightly in the yoke and the result is a click.Acura published a service bulletin or service news about this quite some time ago.
Now mind you I cannot hear your click via the internet so it may be you are experiencing something different are your brakes functioning normally other than that?
I have had some success in the past applying a small amount of brake pad grease to the ears of the brake pads. This seems to get rid of the noise for the most part .Jens

that click when changing directions is normal characteristics of the brakes. jens is right. if you really want to pin point the noise. stuff some paper or something simular between the pad tabs and caliper. test drive if it goes away then its the pads. its called brake pad shift. but if it is still there then have it checked out. i wouldnt waste you time with an attorney. its a real common complaint. also to add to jens' comment, its also for heat expansion.
