please help this poor soul<3

Hey guys, to be honest. I'm tired of looking for a diy for the removal of the intake res. It all might be commonsense but I wanna make sure before doing something dumb to my car lol.

Another thing. I have this horrible gap between my headlight and bumper. I can post pics if you need it. I tried everything , doesn't help. And I drive a 2003 silver tls. I'm only 17. And money is an issue.

You might find the answer to taking off the intake res in the service manual. Go to the following thread and on the last page, click the link from Dropbox (should be 2nd last post IIRC): https://acurazine.com/forums/problem...manual-852101/

Best of luck.

Posr a pic of the headlight-area gap when you can. I'm curious. You say it's "horrible", but I don't know what horrible means to you in this case. I'd like to see It.

About the Gap.. You might need to straighten the Bumper Holder beneath the Headlight if your bumper has a gap. Our bumpers aren't designed so you step on them or lay your feet on them so if any of your buddy´s rest its feet in the corner or just "sit" on it, it will bend the Bumper Holder making that horrible gap.

So don't let anybody put pressure on your front bumper corners again.

To straighten the Bumper Holders you need to remove the bumper completely, There is DIY for that.

Hey I've been there buddy, you'll love this mod it blew my mind after I did it at your age. As for doing it though, examine the bumper issue before removing it completely, I'd hate for you to attempt this feat and break it further.. I did remove mine from inside the wheel well without removing my bumper though. It just took a hell of a lot longer to do.

I got the car from a person who doesn't take care of his cars. I cleaned out dishes with food on it still. Soooo... Some of the stuff is missing on the car. I can't find the bumper holder you're talking about...

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the bumper holder would be the metal piece that goes around the whole front end. When you remove the bumper, there's a hard foam piece behind the front of the bumper. I think the bar that it's attached to is the "bumper holder".

You don't have this:

00 2000 Acura TL Bumper Reinforcement - Body Mechanical & Trim - Action Crash, Front, Rear - PartsGeek

?? That's probably why there's a gap. LoL.

Does the bumper reinforcement hang, or just the bumper? Check the reinforcement to see if it's loose. It could be loose, or maybe it just needs to be taken off and re-seated on the vehicle. Maybe it wasn't installed properly?

And the bumper slides on a certain way, onto the reinforcement, if I'm not mistaken. When I installed an HID kit on my '00 TL a while back it took me a minute to get it lined up properly. It's easy to miss the proper fitment, at least for me. Haha. Have you tried to remove the bumper and reinstall it just to see what you get?

If I'm not mistaken, what it means by "hooks" is the slits in the "left/right front bumper corner upper beam" itself. Not individual pieces. If you don't have the metal piece that sits beneath the headlight(s), that's your problem. Look at the other side and make sure it's there.

Those corner upper beams are pretty vital why wouldn't the car have them those it's the main mounting for the bumper clips and it is a secondary support to the headlights? Get that car checked out and see what else is missing because that's odd..
