My maintenance req'd light has been flashing when I first start the car. But today the light stayed on continuously. Does this mean something significant or should I just reset it? I would look it up in the manual but I am at work w/out my manual.

 

every 7500 miles you maintenence light comes on. its reminder to chnage yout oil.

if this is the reason, you can just reset it.

 

When you say it comes on do you mean that it flashes or that it stays on continuously?

 

first step they start flashes when u start u car , then if u don't reset it for like a day or so.. it will stay on while u driving. to remind u have to get oil change.

Easy to do yourself. Look in your Owner's Manual for reset instructions. Make sure the key is in the right setting or you'll try to recalibrate your outside thermostat.

 

The light will flash everytime when you start the car at around 6000 mile itervals. It will then stay on if not reset the whole time the car is on after 7500 mile itervals.

 

I thought so too, but it came on before that for me. I seriously think it tries to remind you every 3,750 since that would make you a severe conditions driver.
