in a pickle

So, so far since I've had my TL-s since November of last year the transmission failed me, I need to change the water pump and now my alternator is faulty, there's 150k miles on it and I still basically have the full payment to keep paying, is it even worth all that? I still gonna change the water pump, and with the the timing belt as well and now the alternator, I don't know ?

Fix it and keep it. Giving it back or defaulting on the loan will have a negative effect on your credit.

Thing is its gonna take a while for me to get the money to fix it, the car doesn't even turn on sometimes so it's basically gonna sit there, and it's my only commute

Check alternator wiring. Alternator itself may be good and have faulty or corroded wires.

Are you serious? Do it yourself for cheap. $300 for the full T-belt job. Get a used alternator and pop it in. You're making a big deal out of a few hours of work.

sounds like you didnt know about azine before you bought the car
or the trans issue and 105kmile service with timing belt and water pump
would have been well known,, and negotiated in the price

ck the regions link- find ziners in your area who can help diy these jobs,
at a shop it will kill you 1500 for this, 500 for that...
no skills?- dont attempt the tbelt alone,,get help!

once fixed- you cant beat the TL for how much car it is overall

I didn't have a clue about Azine before I bought my TL. I may have been able to negotiate down for imminent tranny failure but the 105 service is so far away that wouldn't be possible. It's a ton of help now that I did find azine though.

You can buy a video that shows you how to do the T-belt job. It is a complete bolt by bolt video. It covers everything from removing the crank to changing the tensioner.
