where to buy PIAA Plasma and Platinum Series
Sorry to start a new thread but....I was thinking about getting these bulbs for my fog lights. Anyone have them?? Since the Plasma are not sold in the US anymore I got nervous(i know I can find them on the net). But are the PIAA 9006 Platinum Series Super White the best alternative????

Loving my 08 TLS!
The Platniums series are the best way to go if you want long lasting bulbs. It usually last up to 2 years, while the plasmas will last up to 8 months. From personal experience, I wouldn't spend over 100 bucks for the plasmas knowing that they are not going to last.

"There is no such bulb called 9006 H4 bulb. There is 9006 (Also called HB4) and 9003 (Also called H4)Both 9006 and H4 is available in US and these two standard is the most
popular bulb in USIf its HB4, BG604/ Razo Premium White and H93/ Piaa Super Plasma will fit. You can either call in(310-320-2597) to place an order, or you can place an order online

The bulb that fits our fog lights are 9006 also know as HB4.
"Yes, they are. Super Plasmas are 5000k, while the Platinum Superwhites are 3950k. Xtreme whites are 4150k."
That statement is not quite correct, the numbers given above refer to the color of the light given off.
The thing that make the bulbs brighter is the wattage. Same as in your house, 60, 75, 100 watt bulb. Our OEM bulbs are 55 watt and that is the wattage you should stay with. There are some 80 watt (brighter) bulbs on the market, but the wiring and housing my not be able to handle this increased wattage (increased heat).
As you go up the color scale the Superwhites are white but not as white as the Xtreme white. The Super Plasma bulb move up the color scale to give off a bluish light.
My recommendation would be either the Super Plasma or Xtreme White. The Super Plasma bulbs may be a close match to the HID headlights. I puchased the Xtreme White and they are close but think the Super Plasma may be a closer match.

at Van Iderstines talked me into them after saying how much longer they last compared to the Plasmas. Serveral people here are using them. The size you want is 9006 or the HB4, not the H4.
I can take pics tonight if you want & send them to you.

If you could post a picture that would be great. I'd love to see how they look from the front. I can't decide if I should gamble with the plasmas or just go with the Platinum.

Just so you guys know PIAA bulbs do come with a 1 year warranty.

I just installed the PIAA Platinum SuperWhite 9006 in my fogs, because the store I go to didn't have the Xtreme in stock, and people on here and in the store said the SuperWhites were close to our HIDs. Well, in daylight they do not match very weel, but we will see at night.
I also go new high-beams. They didn't have any PIAA in stock, so I got the Koito Whitebeam 9005. Those didn't match very well, either, but do give off a little more light. We will see tongiht.
Also, I got PIAA Xtreme HID (H-222) for the map lights. Look much better.
The T6 I got for the dome were the wrong size. Not long enough. They are 31mm. Anyone know the size of our domes? I guess I could measure them...
I want to get new side markers. Replace the yellow bulb with an HID. If I leave that yellow piece in the assembly, it would be legal, wouldn't it? Anyone know what size bulb, and how to take replace them?
Anyone think it would be cool to replace the backup lights with HIDs? Size? I have to go check on the door lights, too, to see what size they are.

mrdeucie, I know they are not real HIDs, it's just what PIAA calls them on the box. Just a sells gimick. But, they are a lot whiter than other bulbs.
