perforated seats fibers poking out

Yea, I made the mistake of putting the vaccum on top of the preforated part, and tons of fibers came out.

That must be a pain in the butt...and I'm sure doesnt look to wonderful either. I guess there's several ways to solve the problem.
1. Find a small rod of some sort..maybe even the those bamboo skewards you use for BBQ's to poke it back in. Just make sure the size of the rod isnt bigger than the seat holes.
2. The sticky roller things they sell at Art's and Craft stores...those one's you use for your cloths for cotton balls.
3. Instead of a vaccum...use a air blower. Blow the surface of the seats clean...between cracks and everything. Hopefully most of the junk come out and fall to the floor...then you can vaccum the floor. Just make sure you do the seats first...then the floor...otherwise it'll be twice the work.
Thats all the ideas that I can think of...and a couple from other peoples post. Maybe everyone can think of more...

Are you guy's using the actual tube end of a vacuum. I would use the brush attachment, much less vacuum pressure me think's.
Don't really know, I've only gotten 800miles so far. They seem to poke out here and there since new.

I didn't vaccum the seat surface and the fibre still comes out from the holes. Usually I just wipe down the seat with a wet towel(just slightly wet)and then put on conditioner/protectants and vaccum the floor regulary to keep it as dust-free as possible...

Since its leather I just vacuum the crevices. I dont see the need to vacuum the flat or upright surfaces. A damp rag does a much better job getting rid of the dust or whatever. I dont know if any adhesive roller is going to help or make matters worse and pull more stuff out. Seriously dont laugh, but I think just cutting those fibers with an electric razor or something may be the best way to go.
Thanx for the warning though, I'll make sure to be careful when I'm vacuuming my car.

Note to self: Do not vacuum perforated seat cushions. I feel for you guys who did it already.
Speaking of cleaning the dash and console, I used a Swiffer. Cleaned it great at first but the residue it leaves behind is a major dust magnet.
'Bama - I'm curious, did you swap a 2000 Nav for a 2002 non-nav or am I reading your sig wrong? If so, why?

rockinTLS: I swapped them out because I wanted the extras that the Type-S had. I loved my 2000 TL, but the dealer offered me a good amount for it on the trade. I couldn't pass that up. All in all I ended up about $1500-$2000 in the hole. But I figured that tuning for an additional 35 horsepower, 17" wheels & tires, 6 disc changer, sport suspension tuning, less wind noise, among other changes was worth at least $2000. So I got the 2002 Type-S. I've got no complaints, but if something better (in my mind) comes along and all the numbers fall into place, I'll drive it.

rockinTLS: I never used it on the 2000. I cover AL and the FL panhandle, and the database has no detailed coverage of any area I travel. It was a cool gizmo, but I'd rather put $2000 towards performance.

Yeah, in the CL forums, we refer to this problem as "Hairy Seats"
I use a leather conditioner from time to time and it seems to keep the hairs in the holes. (that sounds gross)
i never vacuum the seats, just wipe up any dust.....i don't eat in the car, so i don't have problems with crumbs
i don't know if this is a problem with all cars with perforated leather....i've never seen any MB with fibers poking through...
