Pedal feel and Shell V-pOwer

Do you guys get a different feel with Shell V-Power. I usually have Getty and Exxon where I live..but recently I've been using Shell's V-Power and the pedal doesn't sink in as much.

I've never noticed any difference with it really. I have noticed that Shell has some pretty good gas, while some other stations do not. Shell 89 runs much better than some local stations 89. Shell 89/93 though, I don't notice a difference in feel or economy.

Coming from a first gen owner.

I ALWAYS use Shell gas. It's about 2 cents more a gallon for VPower, but I swear I do feel a difference, and at least you know it won't be water like unnamed gas stations.

I've always used Shell, even before they called their 93 "V-Power." Just because their service stations always seem to be clean, well lit, and they always have windshield washer fluid on hand.

So I guess since I've been using Shell since I bought the car, I don't notice any difference.

sorry guys but gas is gas for the most part. the biggest thing to look for is the quality of the station - I wouldnt get it from some old run down place shell or not, but all the major brands are basically the same.

shell vpower gas, from what other mechanics say, is worthless, if ur thinking your gettin a better product your wrong. all they do is add more alchohol into the gas, which can be potentially bad for your fuel system. id stay away from V power.

I wouldn't say V-Power is harmful but I don't think it gives you any significant improvements over Chevron, Valero, etc. Just stick with something you know other than Arco, but in the end you can always use Gumout to clear out the gunk from all that crappy gas you've been using. I just used it 2 weeks ago and my fuel economy went from 300 a tank when I drove all under 2k RPM's and mostly freeway to 380 a tank driving it pretty hard. But then again I have 70k miles so all that gunk has been building up for awhile. Your gains might not be nearly as significant as mine.

sorta true. gas isnt just gas, different formulations and brands can and do help or hinder performance. there is a Big gas station down the road that the gas is crappy, i get far worse mileage if i run it (which i avoid doing) as compared to others. also some use ethanol and some dont. i dont like using fuel with ethanol.

Also with todays prices and stuff it wouldnt surprise me 1 bit if some are watering gas down
