Exclamation Pasadena, Ca. Valet Thieves

For those of you who live in So. Cal and visit the Old Town Pasadena area, beware of the Valet parkers next to Dominicos. They are on the corner of Fair Oaks and Union.

The Valet parkers that work for Unified Parking, were caught making copies of keys of cars that they park. That includes copies of house keys. God knows what they are doing with the extra sets of house and car keys.

If you have ever parked there, be aware.

Just to make something clear, NOT all valets are thieves. But your right, if you have a choice of valet and self park, I would choose self park.

didn't you get a valet key when you got the car? I have one...the valet can't get into the trunk or glove compartment, and why do people give the valet all their keys?

Well, unless you lock the trunk and/or glove compartment, then they still have access to it even with the valet.

well that's the whole point right? closed the trunk, lock it from the glove compartment, locked the compartment and also the pass through, and you are done. now the can only open the door and start the car

but then if they are duplicating the keys, your valet would be all they need....

Stealing is not the only concern here.... You should have seen how those morrons drive those cars and park them..... they are pretty tired of doing this, so they are really carless.....

When you use valet parking the only key the attendeant should have is the the car key, not your house and other personal keys.

yah be very careful giving them your house keys. all they have to do is look in the glove compartment at your registration to find out where you live.

copying the car keys wont do a damn thing though, they need the chip in the key for it to work in the ignition.

SO TRUE.....
If you hand the valet your house keys, you deserve to get robbed!!
It might not be valet either.
Anyone ever seen where they store your keys after they park your car ??? :wow:

Okay all you Oprah Winfrey couch coaches. I was not driving my TL at the time. I was driving my Bronco.

As for you AndySara, who do you think you are telling me I deserve to get robbed! You are a loser. I take responsibility for my actions, but deserved to get robbed? Youre an idiot!!!

AndySara is an idiot!

Anyway, to put it simply.

Avoid the valet parking lot on Fair Oaks and Union in Pasadena.

Okay, simple, I don't need another lecture from AndySara.

Hey man in LA what do you expect...

I ve had a friend spend thousands of dollars on his race car only to get it stolen by the shop that hooked up his car... They simply made copies of his house keyes (garage) and his car keyes and they were home free.... To this day he still can t prove they did it.

Thats why you get insurance full coverage

Just making a statement.

Thanks for the civilized response. See, AndySara, you don't have to go around and blame the victim to make a point.

You cannot make excuses for thieves. Thieves are the worst! And AndySara, you are probably a punk thief who goes around and steals people's badges off hard working people's cars.

The exact opposite. If everything goes as planned, will be working for the DOHS within the next few months.

I hate to tell you this, but that isn't a good idea either. I worked at a 5-star restaurant as a valet...the stories I could tell you...from losing customers keys to scrathing their cars to stealing lose change to taking their personal *stashes*...Oh yeah, most of the time, the valet won't admit to what they did, so it's very hard to prove that they did it.

Don't trust a valet...they won't treat your car any better than you would.

Stealing cash and coins is bad enough. But when they start copying keys, to steal the whole car or break into your home, that is whole new level of low life thievery. I worked as a Valet for many years in a ski resort in Colorado. The worst I ever did was drive the rental cars (90% of the cars we got) hard and drifted them in the snow. I never stole, not even a piece of gum.
