Paranoid or Perceptive? Could my tranny be going again?!
I don't know if I'm being paranoid or perceptive but I've noticed that my tranny holds onto 2nd a little too long and when it shifts it seems like it's slipping -- much like a bad shift or mis-shift w/ a manual it gives a quick, little rev before shifting into 3rd.
It's been so long I don't remember for sure but I seem to remember something similar happening when my tranny went the first time. I hope to sh!t it's not about to go out again.

damn, not again.
Holding 2nd a little too long in SS is normal for me, but the slight rev before 3rd I've never seen.
Surely a replacement transmisison wouldn't have the same defect as the original.
My prayers are with your car.

Technically, this would be my 3rd visit for the same problem. I took it in to my dealership once at the beginning and they said nothing was wrong. This was after visiting Park Acura after the problems really started while travelling in NYC. Park said it needed a new speed sensor or something but my dealership said nothing was wrong.
But if I do go the lemon route, what does that do for me? Do they buy my car back from me at the present value with 27000 miles on it? I'm sure I still owe much more than it's worth. Do they give me a new one? Which I don't think I really would want -- why start over with a new car?
Hopefully all of this won't matter and I'm just being paranoid.

REDLINED, I'm extremely sorry to hear your tranny is gone.......this would be the SECOND time, correct? OMG! What preliminary response is ACURA providing?
This is very disturbing.
I had my tranny fluid changed on Saturday and the svc. rep said that the trannies are no longer on backorder and they believe that Honda has this tranny problem "under control" now. Hopefully this time around you will get a non-defective tranny.......any idea what you can ask for on behalf of all your trouble and inconvenience????? Extended warranty?
Hope it works out for you

Is a dying sign of my tranny or just my driving skill?! I'm so worry about this problem now since too many people had tranny problem.

Actually you should hope that if the tranny failure is inevitable, that it DOES go out under your warranty. Can you imagine if ANY of us have this tranny failure right after the warranty is up????? Then we are looking at the expense to replace the tranny, out of our pockets.....and we all know that would be an injustice!!! So, I worried about it for a while but am now hoping that if it's gonna crap out....do it sooon and hopefully then get a NON-DEFECTIVE tranny as a replacement!

Well, it did go out again. And I believe that as long as it goes out every 8000 to 17000 miles like it has so far, its replacement will always be covered. I think everything on the car has a 50000 mile warranty from the date that part was new. Or so they told me when I had the first tranny replaced.
