Cool Painted the front bumper

I ordered a can of spray paint from towerpaint and decided to paint the black inserts and the centergrill part on the bottom of the bumper. I sent them the paint code and the paint they sent me matched 100%. I expected a little difference but there was none. Overall took a few hours just because of the 5 coats i did and the drying time in humid a$$ NY

My crappy digital camera doesn't do the paint justice though

Talking

cool, looks good.

Hey Andrew, you ever figured out how to do the video navi? What ever happened to that project?

Question for you...how do I hook up my laptop to an A/V input?

Is there such a thing that has a serial port to a/v input?

Thanks, sorry about this being off-topic, nice paint by the way, really does match.

The only way to hook up the laptop to video is if the laptop itself has a video out mechanism like either s-video which is common on dells or rca (which is common on compaq and toshibas). Otherwise you are out of luck

5 coats eh? not too bad.. I've been wanting to paint the middle grill part.. I was gonna leave the fog holes alone..

Is that paint also a clearcoat?

No, its not, but after looking at the result i don't believe i need it for those few sections. I will just wax over it the next time i do the car and i should be all set.

looks good, I would add a clear coat though, but that's just me. My friend painted a few pieces for my car and the clear coat made it look much better. Plus, the oil on my fingers made the paint come off and smear, the clear coat stopped that.

That sounds like a good idea...where and what kind of clear coat paint did you get?

Thanks everyone for the replies

Question

Won't the paint peel off? What's the proper procedure?

I always thought you have to do this:

Sand
Prime
Paint (baked)
Paint
Paint
Clear Coat
Polish
Polish
Wax

It matches eh? I want to get some for my engine and battery covers! What do you think? Don't think heat will be a problem. Should I clear coat it?

I was gonna do the battery cover but i think the paint will bubble because of the heat and same applies for the engine cover, but who knows....i didn't wanna be the guinea pig
