Painted Calipers *pics*

Thanks to Mr Hyde post, I decided to paint mine as well. I did them after work, so only had time to do the front.

I bought the 1500 high temp aluminium paint by Plastitote (sp?). Bought that in Pepboys for 5 bucks.

I don't think painting the rotors are the best thing to do.

Painted calipers seems to be the next big thing these days.

Why not just go after-market.

GOT RICE.

Hell, I personally think the silver calipers are very nice! So it looks "stock", painting it silver helped to bring it out more so than stock.

Thumbs up here. When I picked my car up, the first color that came across my mind was silver.

I hope you don't get me wrong. I mean they do look very nice indeed. All i was trying to say was why not go aftermarket. Therefore you will improve performance and the looks.

Are the brembros really that expensive. I mean painting calipers and rotors seems like something a civic owner would do.

I think you should take back what you just said, newbie! Painting the calipers with high temp paint will prevent rust. When did anyone say that it is going to improve performance?

If there is a kit at a decent price, then I definitely get it instead of painting the caliper for both look and performance.

But at $2000 for the front brembo big brake kit ..... i don't think so
and the rear not even available.

Well, I personally don't like the riceboy look either (meaning red or blue). But these aluminum color paints definitely work. Before anybody flames me, if you decide to go with red or blue, go ahead, more power to ya. But IMHO, aluminum is not "rice". They do help in preventing rust. Brembro's are too overpriced for my taste.

No need for name calling here.

I didn't know about the rust thing.

People here need to chill a bit.

Rice-Boy
- You drive an Asian import. Usually a Honda or Acura
- Your souped up car (known as a Rice-ride or Rice-rocket) is unrecognizable from it's original stock form
- Your exhaust pipe is big enough for your head to fit in
- The spoiler on your car looks like it was made by Boeing
- The interior of your car also looks like it was designed by Boeing
- You always drive like you are racing someone
- You are not afraid of dying in a crash, but you are afraid of speed bumps and parking lot on-ramps
- The only other person besides yourself who can sit in your car is your 105 lbs Tab girlfriend. If anyone else sits in your car, the entire bottom of it will be touching the ground
- Even though your car is a Honda, it goes faster and is worth more than a Lotus Esprit
- If you drive a Civic, your dream car is a Supra. If you drive a Supra, your dream car is a Skyline (which you can never have). Poor Rice-boy.

Doesnt say anything about painting the calipers.. guess thats not rice.....

It doesn't say anything about tagging up your car with stickers either, so i guess that wouldn't be considered RICE :wow:
But alot of aucra's fit a few of your specs listed above
