Question Paint Scheme

I was at the body shop today getting my lip put back on , and was thinking about paint schemes. What do you think about painting the middle part of the hood black and have it come down to a section of the lip? I was also thinking of having the sides painted, having the green fade to black.

^ it might take away from the upscale look of the car ... you ever consider going two-tone? maybe the whole top black might not look as ricey as just the hood

I agree that it might ruin the upscale look. Don't do it.

It would look terrible for a luxury car, run a search there are a couple of people with the hood painted down the middle so you can get a feel for how it looks.

yea i think your car looks freakin hot the way it is with that lip on it. Green is a rare color as it is. Just an idea I thought I'd throw out. Have you thought of painting the headlights? I wonder what it'd look like if you painted them to match the color of the car....like ferrari's or the new corvette's do.

I'd stay with the green bro. Maybe some one can do a p/s to see what it looks like though.

if you want to change the color paint the entire car that color.... do something different if you want a change, but dont do two colors, imo it doesnt sit right on a TL.

nah man no carbon fiber hood, just doesnt look right on our cars, to luxury for that, i think you should get the OEM front lip, and finish out the rest of the kit, and your set.

I now do not want a CF hood. don't like the look at all. I'm glad someone PS'd it. I agree the TL is too classy to have a CF hood tossed on it, it's not a wrx or se-r or eclipse or anything.

I think your PS has too big a weave of CF. A smaller weave would look better. I also think it would look better on black or anthracite.

i do agree that a full cf hood in untouched form won't really go well with the upscale style of the TL...but how about a cf hood, candy cleared with green...not a bad idea IMO...you can still see the cf through the clear green, but its obviously greenish instead of all out black...a pal of mine recently candy cleared a carbon hood and trunk on an e46 m3 at his shop...just a thought...

I put CF Hood on my green Integra an i can say it didn't really look of it.(Hunter Green)
If you wanted to stand out try just middle of hood an center where grille is, it may look good.

I like what ACCURATEin did to his TL ,but i havn't seen one done on 2Gen TL
