'99 TL w/Navi

I'm moving to the Oregon area from California and I need the navigation files from that region. I've already done the hard drive upgrade so I'm familiar with the process. The easiest method, I know, is to go to the dealership, but I've already called three and none of them have the files or the 'equipment' to do the file swap.

Does anyone have the Northwest region files? It should cover WA, OR, ID, MT, WY, UT, CO, AZ, NM. So I figure there should be plenty of people in one of those states with a TL w/Navigation.

Can you help me out?

There may be some help in this thread:

https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=51919

What's also interesting about this thread is that it was started by Paul Mooney himself in 2003 as he started to collect the various region files.

Good luck!

yeah, that thread is useless because hes charging for the files. thats not cool if he got them all for free from other members and now hes charging 125 with the card reader. you can buy all the stuff you need for under 50 bucks. i understand you need to make a buck, but the concept of this forum is to help other users, not rob them. im actually very upset because ive done the navi conversion 3 weeks ago, and no one has helped me out with some files.

If you actually took the time to read the thread you'd know he paid for some of the files by buying them at the dealer.

Well I checked with Paul and apparently he doesn't offer the files by themselves. Don't quite get why not,.. but whatever, I'm not gonna complain. I'm just surprised someone (other than Paul) doesn't have the files that I'm looking for. I mean,.. the NM005 files cover something like 9 states. How can there not be someone on here from that area with Navi?

can you all use my old OEM disc from a 2003 TL-S Navi? I got the upgrade disc and have the old one sitting around. I would give it to you for shipping or just a SASE.

My system is a harddrive based system,.. so for those of you who think that I can just get the DVD, thanks, but it doesn't work like that. I need the files from a similar harddrive unit. Thanks though.

Anyone else?

I haven't tried this, but I've heard reports that it most certainly will not work... there is some kind of copy protection on the disc. I think I read that someone figured out a way around this, but they didn't share it.

Anyway, check eBay, you can get an older disc for pretty cheap from there.

I come across movies all the time that are copy protected, there has only been 1 or 2 i could not back-up? Wonder what kind of protection are on the navi discs?
