For a few weeks now i've been getting this code wich relates to the front o2 sensor, I tried erasing with the scanner, but it kept popping up. I finally decided to replace the sensor and at the same time change the air filter to a K & N panel filter. Only I couldn't install the sensor (it was too tight!), anyway, after I replaced the filter I decided to erase the code again and it hasn't popped up in 4 days.
You people think it has to do with a dirty air filter not letting enough air into the engine wich could've caused the sensor misreading?
Should I still replace the o2 sensor?
thanks

something is still wrong-
what did the old air filter look like- plugged beyond recognition?
whats your mileage now?
any exhaust mods like high flo cat?
front sensors do go bad after ~100kmiles- try soaking the threads in wd40 or similar product overnight and then try tightening the sensor slightly-- to break it loose
to fully clear any codes: remove the CLOCK fuse on passenger side of dash end, for a minute then reinsert- thats the secret backup power to the ECU and will force a reboot and scan of the whole system

the old filter was very dirty, but not plugged
mileage is about 80k miles
no mods to cat or exhaust
i did the clock fuse also, even if there is no code, just to be sure
car is running great, no loss in power, no rough idle if that's what you mean,
there was a drop in mileage...I used to get close to 19mpg city driving and last time I checked it was getting like 14 mpg city, haven't checked since i changed the air filter yet, but feels a little better, like the needle hasn't moved as fast!
Maybe I should just replace it and be over with it, right?
Thanks
