Outside Temp Gauge

The outside temp. gauge on my car has a problem, the highest it will read is 84 degrees. I know this is way off because I live in NJ where the temperature is above the 90s. Also my parent's TL measures 98 and other high temperatures while this one goes to only 84. Anyone ever had this problem or know how to fix it? Thanks.

I have a 2002 TL-S and so far the gauge has gone as high as 99, have not seen it breaks 100 yet.

You can adjust temp to reflect the real one. After adjustment mine is Very accurate after I drive few miles.
Check your manual

This could be the highest reading I've seen:

As Beiruty said... you can adjust the guage if it is that far off. Check in the manual as it tells you how to do the adjustment.

FYI.....mine is usually pretty accurate as well.
