Out of warranty and one HID is out
Now that I am at 57K miles one of my HIDs is not working. Also there is condensation inside the light assembly.
I have been busy with transmission issues all these years, I haven't done any research about HID replacement. What would it run me? Can just the bulb be changed?

My brother got a spare OEM one that he picked up a while back, NIB, $50 +shipping.
Pretty easy to replace, you will need a T20 security torx bit, got a little hole in the center.
Twist the cap off, twist the connector off, and remove the hold down clip.
Installation is reverse of that.
Did both of mine in like 15 min.

yeah, but I also would have to break the front bumper and peel the hood back to make it look like a genuine HID theft.

here is another thing to think of. you said there is condensation in the headlight, you may have a broken seal or something, and putting the bulb in will gust blow it again reall quick til you get that taken care of

It is weird how after 4 years it got moisture... The other light is OK.

must be... Lense looks OK. How would the seal break if no one poked around?
Just a sanity check - warranty on this stuff is only 50K miles, right?

It might not be the bulb, so dont spend any money on parts yet.
I had this problem once on my cleared headlight. turns out the problem was not the bulb which was fine, but the ballast located on the underside of the headlamp. It communicates directly with the headlamp almost like a drain on the bottom, so if a drop of water moisture works its way to the bottom of the lamp, it can definitely end up in there.
Once i changed that, My headlamps were up and running just fine with the original bulbs.
It will take some time, and work, but I figured out which part was the broken by taking off the bumper, and both headlights, and then swapping the igniter, ballast, and bulb one at a time from the non working to the working headlight until I found the part that was shorted out.
You can find out how to do this by searching for the headlight clearing threads. It wasnt that hard, but it took a couple of hours.

On the driver's side, there isn't enough room between the light assembly and the airbox for me to stick my hand in. How do you manage to twist off all these things there?
