Our TLS is SOOO Sweeet

Time to post some positive feedback-

I dont know about you guys but I have just hit a 1000 miles and have really been taking it easy on my car-

I hit a stop light with a long stretch of open road- The light turned green and I decided to scratch its back a bit- I was pumpin 70 sooooooo fast-

That is the first time I HIT IT- What a great vehicle-

Earlier I was next to some old fart in his what appeared to be a 330xi and he was signaling to have me open my window - so I did assuming he wanted directions and he said, 'Is that that type s Acura, I replied Yes and he said, man they did a nice job with that car!

Just thought I would share some good feedback!

Peace

When I first got my car, this old guy in a hooked up pickup truck wanted to race with me. I accelerated to 80 in a matter of seconds and zoomed by him. We both stop at a light and he rolled down his windows and said, "Damn you car is FAST! What do you have under hood, Turbo??" All I had was an intake. That's of the of many compliments that keeps me smiling everyday that I made the right choice in buying TLS.

Thumbs up

I definitely like these kinds of posts!

Sometimes I just feel like rolling down my windows and screaming, "I love my car!!"

Still get compliments galore on my car! I especially like it when I (an older person @ 39) hop out of my car near a bunch of 20-somethings as they stare in disbelief that this "old dude" is driving this lowered, pimped-out car! Heh, heh, heh. Sometimes they even recover enough to ask me a few questions about it.

Later,

V.

That was no old fart. Clearly he was a clear thinking, intelligent man who knows a great car when he sees one.

Question vtec range...?

any one care to give me what's the vtec range? 3500 to 5500 rpm maybe? or more specificly speaking passing a number of rev?

have all three cars made of Honda but TL-S is the first one w/VTEC, that's why I am curious. BTW, still not done with break-in yet so I won't have the chance to experience the feeling.

I was driving down to providence last night with a friend of mine who owns a 5MT chipped A4 1.8t with exhaust, which looks pretty fricking sweet lowered with his 17s, RS4 grill and cleared corners! Anyway, everytime we ride with each other with influence the other's driving and last night was no different. So I get onto 195 and when I get a chance I gun it (not WOT) and the car just takes off! We are both big boys and the car still felt damn strong. He was impressed, although he and I both know that on the curves he will eat me alive (AWD, race springs, sway bar and Kumho 225 tires compared to my stock ride).

To make a long story short I love my car and it will only get faster!

If I remember correctly, our VTEC kicks in @ 5300 rpm.

I hear my valves open up between 3800-4000rpm

Everytime I drive my car, it feels like I'm on a vacation on a beach somewhere. I lenjoy every moment of it.

Lemme add another one.

When I got out of the TL after I parked at the library one day, a senior parked beside me said, "That's sure a nice car you got there...what kind of car is it?"

I think someone on this forume actually comfirmed with VTEC control that the default setting for our VTEC kicks in is @ 5300 rpm a while ago. But some people also believed it kicks in @ 4800 rpm. Well... I'm not really sure who is right!

Those people who knows, please speak up. :p

hi everyone, yes yes our car is the sh!t. I let my friend drive it and i had to pry him out of the seat. anyways, i'm thinkin about putting in the intake on my car, i'm scared cuz i never made a mod before. What will it actually do for me. Also i'm thinking of putting in that gadget called the tornado, or the car as well. Let me know it that sounds like a good idea.

Nike1678..

With regards to the intake. YES! it's a good mod and gives considerable engine growl, and streetable power, around 5 whp.

And..to the tornado. HELL NO. That gadget is a FAKE FAKE FAKE product. There are no gains, and everything you see on tv has been falsely advertised. Please do not waste your money on that.

You should wait for RES, or MMII or a supercharger, but PLEASE stay away from the tornado.

I won't get the tornado, don't worry. So about the intake, it gives me, more of a growling sound, but it only gives a 5 hp difference? Which one is really good?

nike,
i went with the AEM cai with a bypass. Injen's are good as well. It's really up to you. You'll love the sound right off the bat. Too bad my car is in the shop at the moment....=/

one thing you should get after that, is an exhaust.. i'm leaning towards comptech or HKS at the moment.. i'll just wait until first week of june when i get my car back...then decide..

yea intake makes lotta difference on our car.... but from what i hear... TL-S has such good exhause system from factory that it really doesn't make a difference having an after market exhaust system. so if anything... i would invest in intake and headers...

and bypass valve seems like a waste of money... it really doesn't work unless your whole filter is submerged under water anyways.... and i know most of you won't even dare to cross a creek with the car...hehe but what ever make you feel safer...and better safe than sorry... personally i would never get one tho...
