ORDERED TL-S 6Speed

ORDERED TL-S 6Speed
Stopped by for a visit with my Acura dealer on Saturday. He took my deposit for a TL-S with 6speed trans. He is not sure if it is full manual or shift auto., but the codes are in the computer for it. Silver/black or Black/parchment were the preferences. He didn't have color sample for agean blue, the new color. In January, there is a Acura dealer meeting in Las Vegas where they will be provided more details. Expect a February public announcement. Delivery is anticipated for April. Cost is agreed that it will not exceed MSRP and includes free lifetime oil changes. Verbal confirmation of memory seats, in dash 6 CD, no chrome door handles, front end minor sheet mods.

I forgot to add: TL-S will be in limited supply so sign up early. I am first on the list, but by the end of this week another three orders are anticipated. My dealer has sold out his MDX allotment through Feb. as well. Not even a floor model to look at.

bombs I am almost sure the agean blue, is the same blue from the SEAM show. This is the one I'm getting.
Only one more piece of info I am waiting on, is if it has the same 2 tone interior from that same car.

Seems like the headrests are of a third color...maybe its just the flash. Anyone who went to the show remember if it is the same? Just curious.

So the AEM CAI that there working on now for the CL-S should be the one will use. Just a guess.
Headers, springs, shocks, wheels ect should all me the same.
My guess

AWESOME! I hope your right, Snook! I am going to try and get a TL-S, but I want to keep the $3,500 worth of mods I just bought! The 30-35 HP from those ought to put the TL-S around 290-295! SWEET!

As posted earlier last week, the dealer confirmed memory seating, 6CD in dash, 260 to 270 HP, 6speed (though not clear if manual or shift auto), new front end sheet metal, tilt p/s mirror. He was not sure about the fog lights. More details will be available in January. Also gold color is dropped.

Hey RamseyAcuraGSM,
Thanks for the "inside" info...do all dealers know about the 01' TL-S..and are all taking deposits on them!? If they haven't heard any info regarding the new car, is there any info that we can give them to make them aware?! Thanks again...it's always nice to hear the inside truth.

Couple questions I was wondering if you can find out
1. Does it come with foglights ?
2. Is a Body Kit going to be available
3. Will the 2 tone Interior be an option
Thanks!

First I would like to thank you all for the replies...I will give any and all info I possess on the upcoming vehicles as I get the accurate information... The official release of the '02 Acura 3.2TL Type-S is March '01. It will be limited at first. There are limited colors... Exterior colors are Black, Blue, Pearl White, Dark Green, and Silver. No confirmation of fog lights standard. There is no two-tone interior from the factory. There are companies that two-tone an existing leather interior. The Acura body kit did not fare well with '00/'01 TL's so I would doubt the availability of it (but who really knows). There is no release of MSRP, but a good guess is $31,000-$32,000 + Navigation (The only option except accessories). I will post often and please feel free to e-mail and I will do what I can to respond asap. Thanks Again for all the responses. Michael

Michael, thanks for repling. Its nice to have an Acura dealer on the board.
Just thinking of my question on the body kit, being that there is no body change for the 2002 TL's (except minor front changes which probably means fogs and my guess a grill change) the 99-01 TL OEM kits should be the same.
Also for your info, the 2002 TL's will have clear tail lights (most likely Inspire Tail lights, maybe just on the type S, I don't know) and white guages.

You are right it's the same body from 99-01, but there are changes to be made to the front, and rear fascias. So who knows if the sides will change. Also I did hear about the clear lights off of the Inspire. The car will have the titanium gauges, VSA, In dash 6-CD Changer, Memmory Seat linked to the remotes, 17" Inch wheels (Maybe different style than the 3.2CL-S). And maybe others as well. Thanks for the response, and I enjoy the questions. It will be my pleasure to share with the info as it unfolds.

WOW!All sounds good, except for color's??? I was going 2 do some mods to current TL, but will wait 4 Tl-S, & hopefully other colors. I might be able 2 trade in leased car by then? I hope the dealer gives a good trade-in value for a well kept y2k TL!!

Yes I was with Greenwich Acura, and yes I was racing a '94 Integra GS-R in Black, then a '95 GS-R in Red. Thanks for remembering me.

I hate to flood you with further questions, but has there been any information released as to whether or not the seat style is changing? (i.e. CL-S seats)
And, of course, as soon as you get MSRP information I'm sure we're all dying to see it...
Thanks for all the info!

I can see the next TL meet we have in Florida, RAdams will be the first one there with his TL-S
** He takes out his calculator and figures out just what it will cost him to get out of his 2000 TL lease ***
I also heard TL-S will have CL-S seats

Another Jersey resident here looking to buy the TL Type S. Michael, how many preorders have you taken already? Since it looks as though it will be limited, I'm still trying to see if I can get it right when it comes out (if I do, I should preorder now), but it looks as though I have to wait till around Thanksgiving (when my lease for my current car ends). It should be around $34,000 with navi right?
