i can get a used yellow top for cheap but theres 1 thing to it. i might have to recharge it. the condition seems good if it dosent need charging. it was used for 4 month and then taken out and unused for a couple months and now might need a charging. will recharging a dead yellow top work and are there any affects to a recharged battery?

also which model number yellow top fits for our TL?

Not sure BUT , i think u can take it to some place like Pep Boys and they charge it up for you. Might have to check on that. Once they charge it up (if they do) , they can tell u what the deal is with that battery.

 

the optimas can be run down and recharged numerous times! i know... yellow top that fits our cars is the deep cycle model# D34-950. part # 8012-021. go to the optima website, they just came out with new covers for the battery's!

 

kman where is the covers? i dont seem to see it on there site.

 

nov car audio has the them on page 14. they are so new they might not be on the site? it says the covers fit the group 34/78 red top and yellow top "SIDE" terminal applicatins. they cost $13.00. call them up, I BET YOU CAN MODIFY ONE TO FIT IF THE COVER IS THE SAME SIZE AS OUR MODEL? sorry for caps. from what i see here in the mag, it's just a plastic cover.

 

the optima battery is designed do be drained and charged ofer and over. i had one sitting on my garage floor for 8 mnths (which is a no no) and she started the car up and is still running. that was over 5 years ago
