Opinion onnRotors and Pads

Well its about time to replace them so what do u guys think? im not made of money so bbk is out. i can prolly afford a lil over the oem style ones. i was lookin at the rotora slotted in the GB section. i can afford those but not that and the pads what do u guys recommend for a cheaper but good quality pad.

my budget for this is under 400 and id like slotted rotors so let me kno if you guys have any suggestions

Are you looking for just fronts or all the way around?

The rotor is important- buy quality!

Good pads are very important- they actually do the stopping work

Slotted rotors are great if you drive very aggressive, do track days, mountain runs etc where repeated hard fast slow down is the name of the game and you have heat cracked or damaged rotors in your past.
The slots will help cool the rotor and their design is critical. see weblink below

For bling factor, I can barely see the vents on mine thru the stock TL wheels, looks like a shadow. The dark "paint" protective stuff wore off the vents right away so its all silver rotor

Buy high quality pads- I like Hawk HPS www.hawkperformance.com for tech info
On the cheap but still good- NAPA auto parts American made rotors with the Hawks (pepboys for pads locally)

For ultimate braking I went with the RacingBrake rotors from MrHeelToe a sponsor of this site www.heeltoeauto.com there is a special combo there in your price range
see racingbrake.com for tech details

Now I look for sunny days to go play on the back roads!
Ah here's one now! later~

im going to risk it and try the r1concept drill/slots with either ebc green or hawk hps. i have read about the r1 on lots of other forums and have only heard one issus and they refunded/replaced it no questions asked. it seems to be like and XS header fairytail story, if they suck my stockers are only a little warped with plenty of beef, i can put them back if needed.
from my research, it cant possibly be worst then stock ones in anyway.

Yeah I read that to but there seems to be alot of other people who havent had a problem with them so I figured I would give it a shot and will be installing my fronts this weekend

You dont want slotted and drilled unless they are from a maker that designed the rotor to be drilled and has ball chamfered holes
Total waste of money on bling when your car has many go fast mods

The TL does not need a BBK unless you are running racing slicks

Get the Racing Brake rotors from HeelToe- the maker ships direct UPS ground from NJ with the pads and the SS brake lines if you want too!
www.racingbrake.com for tech details on construction methods
3 main points
Special Alloy
Heat Treated
Unique Patented curved inner cooling vanes - an upgrade over OE and others
that have straight cooling vanes
If your supplier can give the same info on product- tell me- I want to see it!

I am running EBC green stuff pads all the way around with EBC slotted and dimpled rotors in the front. Also running stillen crossdrilled in the rear. It cost me just around 400 and the car brakes awesome now.
