Question Opinion on colour of instrument cluster

Ok, I have my new LED's to do my cluster mod V.2(new and improved....brighter). I took pics of my last mod (all blue) and did some photoshop'n to get an idea of what I want to do now. Let me know which one you like (even if you hate all of them, pick one).

1

2

3 Just a little less blue in the lines

So should I do 1, 2, or 3?

I like 2 and then 1. 3 seems to be a waste of effort to have the lines barely be noticeable IMO.

OntarioTL, i'm curious as to how you are going to be have the leds in a different color seperating the lines and the number. Are you just going to put some kind of tape blue over the line and use white leds?

I'll be using hyperwhites......but for how I'm going to do it...I have a few ideas in my mind.....I'll share once I have it done....then I have to do another cluster for a buddy....but he's paying for my work on his. I'm even thinking of making the blue darker....again ideas running through my head.

Just what I was thinking. I figured how to make it darker colour like the 04+ TL style about 5 minutes ago.

With the way I'm doing this mod, red is a possibility...but I dont want red. Maybe during my work, I will take pics with red. I'll take pics nonetheless...just in a few days. 3g light up wont be a possiblity......although........

Well here is just a little sample tonight. I did not re-touch with photoshop besides cutting the pic (didnt want my fingers holding the gauge while aiming against a few test led's in the shot!). This is actual colour. Not my best camera work before I go to bed, but you get the point. Is this blue enough?
Alright, hitting the sack.

I'm starting on the lighting today. I'm leaning towards 2 or 3....I'm probably going to go with 2....but I can always change my mind.

Update

Ok, since its been bloody cold out, and I can work on my LED cluster Ver2.0 . I tried to get the best colour shot, but with its hard with mydigicam. Here is a few picks of the rough in. I need to still install a few more leds to get the needles lit and the hotspots looked after but thats the easy part. And I decided to go with Option "3" on my survey. And if your thinking, the answer is no....there is no photoshopping here. You'll notice that the Drive indicators are a little screwy, thats because I'm replacing my 99 gauges with 2000+. I will sort that out as well. They are nice and bright even running at only 12volts.....it will be nice to see them at 14.5v.

I will have more pics later, and I will have some sort of DIY. Just be forwarned this is not just a drop in bulb kinda thing. Just have to give me time to figure this out myself before I have a DIY set up. joe80055 was in the right direction for using nail polish remover (although I must of got a crappy kind as it didnt work for me) so you can use any colour you want. As per example of this pic below (not the greatest, but you get the point). I'm using Superflux LED's. They are rated at 23 lumens (not mcd's) so far I'm using 3 for the rpm. I will be using Hyperwhite (50,000 mcd) for the needles. Ok back to work for me! I will post more on my progress later...

Playing around with red while my solder iron warms up......and to clean up the Fuel/Temp gauge.....this is the hardest one for removing the paint. Oh and in the pic, the MPH is in dark blue now...the pic just doesn't pick it up well

I was going to use colour filters for all meters, but I found that a Sharpie marker does just as good if not better. I will have to use filters on the Fuel/Temp as its hard to get a marker in there, unless you leave the lines white or the light blue. I bought transparencies for my color laser printer to make the tint (that way I have any choice of colors or tint at my disposal). I guess I will use the transparencies with my shifter mod. I will scan my original shifter template and mod the colours so it will work with a hyperwhite LED. I want to keep the red and the rest in dark blue.
So far I'm finding the hardest part is to get the damn needles to light up...I have them working...but not 100% yet. This is where patience comes in handy!!!

Actually they dont look as bright as the camera takes them. That was my first batch and unfortunately I had to change the resistance as the first superflux's burned out late last night (see, I wont share a DIY until its 100% right or you would have fried a few LEDs already) and also I have changed the layout for the leds so there are no hotspots. Right now with the lights off in the living room, they look like the honda accord. The brightness is just right.
