Which one should I buy: RSX 2005 or TL 2002

Hi all,
I'm in a big quandary. I have a choice of buying a new RSX 2005/2006 or a used Acura TL 2002 with 29K (the two are almost of the same price.)

With the TL, I will have the (luxurious) options not found in RSX. But I read a lot about the tranny problems so this scares me a lot. On the other hand, if I get the RSX, I won't get those options not found in TL.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

The TL For shure, I've driven an RSX as a loaner and hated it. There was cheap insulation, i could hear everything going on outside. The drive is very bump you can feel everything on the road.

If you want a car that wont give you any trouble go with the RSX, But with the Tl it's really the tranny that might give you problems, but some people here have 180 000 miles and no tranny problems, so it's really upto you. I'd say take the Tl it comes with 7 year 100k warranty. and plus its a V6, not a 4 cyl.

I know this is a tl forum and all but, If I had the choice between the two I would rather get the 05 rsx. I love the rsx. I driven the 02 and another reason I get that over the TL is because its brand new and I love to mod a car and a rsx has so many parts out for it. Not saying the tl is bad and can't be modded but, the rsx has way more parts for the car. It's also light. That's just my opinion though. Both cars are hot though.

Those are 2 very different cars. It all depends on what you are looking for. For me, the TL was a far better option b/c it has 4 doors and is half luxury. I don't like the ride in the RSX, which I also had as a loaner for a week. Of course with gas the way it is, I am sure you would get better mileage out of the RSX, but I still get about 21 mpg with my TL-S. It all depends on what you are looking for. Sporty car, lots of mod capabilty, better gas mileage, rough ride...go with the RSX. If you want sports and luxury, more comfortable ride, some mod capability, and of course the dreaded tranny problem (may not even be an issue for you) then go with the TL. No one can answer this question for you, but hopefully you will make the right decision and go with the TL

seriously, completely different cars make it impossible for others to choose for u. only u can know what it is that u need or want. if they were 2 different cars in the same class then we could all definitely help with recommendations and opinions.

I prefer sport sedan....so I go for TL for sure...
think about this...the chassis of TL = accord ....the chassis of RSX= civic...
but I do love RSX tho....with JDM kit

I had an RSX loaner also. Man those cars are EXTREMELY boring. It wasn't no Type S so maybe that would've made a difference. I would get the TL, it's cheaper and drives 10 times better. The tranny issues don't happen as much as you think to the general public. It's a small percentage that the tranny issue is happening to. Even if you get a bad tranny w/ TL it's covered to 100K.

Also you didn't mention if TL was a Type S. If that's the case then I'd emphasize more on getting the TL.

I am on my 4th Transmission on my TL, has 110,000 miles, that said, there have been no more tranny problems since they did the oil jet fix. Hopefully this is the end of it. I love my TL, as it is a powerful smoothie. However if I has the choice for the same price I would go with the RSX, which is a very nice vehicle, and new. I would however extend the loan and get the TSX-S.

Go in between and get a TSX!!!! I had one for a loaner and LOVED it. I'd get it with the 6-Speed tho. You can prolly pick up a 2004 one for like $22k if you hagle well. I really want one but am waiting (hoping?) Acura puts out a 225 hp Type-S version (that way I don't lose any HP when I switch from my TL-P)

I am not an insurance agent, but I think TL insurance is cheaper than RSX. By the way, I prefer TL.
