OK for Tall Drivers?
Just test drove a TL-S this weekend . . . great car, but I had some trouble finding a good driving position. I'm six feet tall, which you would think should be fine for the car, but I found myself with my feet too close to the pedals, my arms too far away from the steering wheel, or sitting bolt upright. Anyone else have this problem?
The curse of the tall guys. I'm 6' 4" and in my last two cars I had to forego the sunroof option because I needed the extra inch or two of headroom. I like to drive in a more upright position (usually called "Italian driving style" as many Italian sports cars force the driver to sit almost perfectly upright). The '02 TL-S headroom is sufficient but not plentiful. I have had to recline my seat more than I used to, but I got accustomed to it rather quickly. The top of my hair does brush the headliner depending on how I'm sitting, but it's not annoying. I would have been dancing in the streets if the TL-S had an extra inch (or two) of headroom and I would have dumped the sunroof (again) if I could have (although I really do like having one), but it's better than some of the other cars out there. My first choice for a new car was going to be an '01 Ann. Ed Maxima SE but I just couldn't fit in the damn thing.
