ok, this one's got me...

so i got home tonight, locked the car and went inside. I forgot something in the car, so I went out to the car like, 30 seconds later, unlocked it, and the fans started going. I am pretty sure this has never happened before, does anyone have an explanation? I'm kinda worried

How long did you take to come back outside? Maybe the fan was finishing a rotation from when you shut the car off...?

That's normal. I believe this is also mentioned in the owners manual.

i know that on some cars, Saab in particular, the the fans will continue to spin after the car is off. I've just never had this happen before. Have any of your guys' car done this?

The fans can run regardless whether the car is on or off. Sometimes even after you turn the engine off, it may still need additional cooling. The fans can kick on automatically. Sounds normal.

just wondering, but... why hasn't it ever done this before? Do you guys ever have this happen or your cars?

Two moderators and other posters let you know that it's normal.

What else can we tell you?

Logically, it either has done it before but you didn't notice because you had walked away from the car, or the fan(s) didn't need to run before. Regardless, it is normal, it happens to others, and you're in good shape!

i've owned my TL-S for about 3 months and this happened for the first time a week ago. i had been driving all over town though. i guess the sensors figured the engine needed a little more cooling that day. it only stayed on for a few minutes.

this only happened a few times on my Accord. i think if you take care of the cooling system it shouldn't happen very often.
