Hmm, I remember buying my HID bulbs a while back. I remember there are two types, D2R(our car) and D2S(?). The D2C bulb basically works in place of either bulb.

I didn't want to risk it, so I just went with a D2R bulb. You can tell if it's D2R or D2C by looking for a black paper like thing surrounding the bulb.

yeah.. i ordered d2r bulbs from ebay and the seller sent me d2c bulbs and it didn't had that black paper surrounding lol and one of the bulb didn't fit due to manufacturer's defect. i returned the bulbs and asked him to send only d2r and he said it's out of stock and willing to return my money. i looked all ebay sellers and pretty much all are carrying d2c bulbs as they are universal fit. i was using the search and one of the member is using kaixen d2c bulbs in his reflective housing. hopefully he will chime in... thank for your input though

that black strip stops all the glare from our headlights. thats how we can use hids on reflector style headlamps when most hid equipped cars have projectors. dont do it, without the strip theres just too much glare.

read this, it will tell you everything you need to know about HIDs:

http://www.hidplanet.com/forums/show...out-HID-bulbs.

D2R is designed for reflectors and D2S for projectos. for your TL you need D2R only. according to that site, the brightest D2R bulb is the 5000k Xenarc 66250CBI "Cool Blue Intense"
