OK guys need some help.. Garage door opener
We just got garage door openers put in, im trying to set the homelink system so that i can open the doors without using the transmitter from Genie. I tried holding the buttons simultaneously and i foloowed the directions in the manual word for word, well at least i hope, but i cannot get the doors to open using the homelink system in the car, anyone wanna tell me how they did it? any input is greatly appreciated, thank you.

i had to push the button on the original remote several times repeatedly as i held the Homelink button down....eventually it worked....you'll know it when the red light on H-link flashes rapidly

odds are it has the rolling code (almos all have that now)
so you will have to program it with the rolling code directions. (meaning you will have to find teh learn button on the garage door opener)

Visit www.homelink.com
Visit www.homelink.com and hit the tab "training".
Here you can enter all the information regarding your car model, make and your garage door opener model and get the instructions specific to your case.
I don't remember exactly how I did mine but it took me less than 2 minutes after I read through the instructions from above link.
Good luck.

programing it with the rolling code is prettu simple. if I remember correctly, all you do is find the learn button on the garage opener and go out to the car and hold onto one of the button for like 30 sec? and it is done

tried it again last night ... no dice. I think it has a rolling code, which means I have to get up and play with the garage door opener ... which means I have to find a ladder.
