oil jet tranny problems?

Hey I was just wondering how many of you have had your tranny replaced even after acura has installed the oil jet mod. I just purchased my car three weeks ago and today on the highway it gave kind of a hiccup like it was about to downshift. Just curious as to whether the oil jet is really any help at all. Hopefully my tranny isnt going to hell.

you wont notice anything different after you get the oil jet put on but it will probably make a big difference in the long run...

id say get your car into the dealer ASAP and get your tranny looked at

Thanks

Over in the Cl forum transmissions are dying left and right AFTER the oil jet fix. Some are saying not to have it done ....some have had their transmission fail minutes after the install....proceed with caution ...If what others are saying is true.

this is bad advice. if you dont get the oil jet installed your trans can lock up and you will crash. i would rather have my trans start slipping after the install of the oil jet kit then crash and possibly hurt someone. this is a safety recall make sure you get it done.

By issuing this "transmission update" Honda takes some accountability for the small amount of tranny problems they have. By not responding to the recall, the end user assumes the responsibility for the transmission. Honda can simply say, "why didn't you get the update done when we offered it?", and may leave you out to dry.

""""proceed with caution ...If what others are saying is true""""

Sorry for the confusion...Note I said proceed with caution and I stated this only because of what some said at the cl board.

I know all about the danger's of transmission lockup.... FIRST HAND.

The problem with getting the recall is that I have not gotten the notice in the mail as of yet and I have to have it in order to have the OIL kit installed. I really wonder where my notice is ..I have early 04 and my vin is positively in the recall range, however as stated the letter has yet to arrive.. Interestingly enough I never received the extended warranty letter for my prior 03 .....

The Honda manufacturing plant that produces 2500 tranmissions every day ....... and has even stated that they fiddle with them constantly ...trying new things ...Which accounts for the PCM/ ECU/FPR changes in the transmissions .....is obvious ..as is their design for these transmssions.....DEFECTIVE.....How long can we be guiene pigs/ LAB MICE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This new recall ....for the oil kit .... I have heard in these forums is a farce! I'm sure you've read it yourself......

A Manufacturer that can produce 2500 transmissions everyday ....and can do this at 40% less cost as other manufacturer's ...has absolutely ! No excuse for allowing this to go on for years....With allthe ability they profess to have at their manufaturing plant...Their top gun engieers who meet weekly ....Can't design a safe transmission ....?

Any way carry on with the oil jet kit ...ofcourse once I get the letter I'll be first in line that day myself................. It's like an immunization shot I guess ...hope it works ..my car has 20445 miles right now ...have to drive it to Dr. appt tomorrow and my 03tl went at 20500 ...then again at 21500 ...I am scared to get to 20500 ...my luck this past year leaves much to be desired ....I'm driving very slow ..all the time scared ...it's crazy to have to be scared everytime I drive my car .To top it off ...getting to Dr's appts in a car that CAUSED it all! And to find out it is not safe iether AFTER they swore this 04tl i was their same transmission used in the Acura NSX...
